The Tatton Estate is the largest private landowner in east Cheshire, responsible for several thousand acres of land and around 500 residential and commercial properties. The Tatton Estate has been under the careful stewardship of the Brooks family since the death of the last Lord Egerton in 1957 when Tatton Hall and Park were separated and gifted to the National Trust.
Over 1,000 people live and work in our farms, residential properties and commercial buildings. We also work hard to conserve and maintain some of Cheshire’s best historical assets, including the Peover Estate, buildings such as the Town Hall in Knutsford and the villages of Rostherne and Bostock Green.
Our work reaches far beyond just bricks and mortar. Family owned, we have deep roots in the local community and are determined to secure the area’s long term legacy. We play an active role in nearly all aspects of local life and support a large number of community initiatives. We provide over 100 acres of sports, recreation, public open space and community facilities.
Please see the Community page for more information on the charitable and community work of the Estate.
